| Objective: In late 2008, CPF began expansion of our program in the Wind River Valley to serve local veterans in Fremont County and the state of Wyoming, and to serve more veterans nation-wide. Our plan is to build or purchase a ranch/retreat here in the valley to be used for recreational activities for veterans, their families, and Gold Star mothers and fathers (those parents who have lost a son or daughter in war). The idea is to offer our warriors and their families a place to rest and relax and to help restore the hope and morale after the rigors of war. For the Gold Star families this would be a place to reflect on the life of their child and to interact with other parents and veterans. CPF is currently working with a ranch in the Dubois, Wyoming area who have donated blocks of time at their facilities for the 2010 summer to help make this happen this year. We hope to have sessions in the following summers, utilizing donated propterties, until we are able to build our own facility. |
